Any new organ which is introduced to the body is attacked by the immune system via white anti-bodies in the blood stream. The immune system regards the introduced organ as alien. And reacts to protect the body. Medical science has developed medications which are introduced to the body prior to transplantation. The medication inhibits the immune system from reacting to the transplant as an alien.
