When I opened My Computer it told me that the 984 Mhz then five minutes later it

tells me that it's 1.79 ghz w? this is about my processor btw... ill open my computer system properties and it will say i have 984 mhz when i should have 1.8 ghz... i dont know why its doing this
i have an amd sempron 3200 1.8 ghz... im so confused, its majorly affecting my gaming
