My fiance and I have been having this ongoing discussion lately about when and if we should ever have a child. I've been leaning towards being about 27 or 28 when I'd like to get pregnant, but a part of me feels like that is really old. But then another part of me thinks it's too soon because I would love to spend many years with my husband without having to look after another person, so it's just me and my man. So from everyone's past experience, what is a good age to have your first child? I don't think I want to live my life without having a kid, but at the same time I really don't want one too soon (but i don't know what 'too soon' is). Does the health risks for your child increase when you reach around 30 years old? Everyone else (family, friends, coworkers) says 28 is really old to start conceiving... is it? My parents and his parents would like grandchildren within a few years. By the way, I am about to be 19 in a few days and he is 20.
