When is the Cheesy Gordita Crunch at Taco Bell?

I know it's always a limited release or whatever, but does anyone know about what time(s) of the year they offer it?

I crave Taco Bell every now and then, but the best thing they have is the Cheesy Gordita Crunch! I wish so badly it were permanent on the menu.
Do you have it on your local menu?

It isn't on the ones here. I wonder if you just have to special request, or if it is regional?
 
Taco Bell always has every ingredient needed to make one so you would think it would be available everywhere. This is not the case. All a cheesy gordita crunch is, is a baja gordita + a taco shell + the 3 cheese blend they use on everything. It is never listed on any menu but if you ask for it at a corporate owned store they will make it for you every time. Some franchise stores if not most will not. If your not sure what I'm talking about a corporate store is owned by yum industries(the Corporation that owns pizza hut, taco bell, kfc etc...), where as a franchise is owned by some dude who pays yum for the rights to his store and can charge whatever he wants and can put or not put whatever he wants on his menu. The easiest way to find out if your at a corporate store or not is to just ask. The other way you can tell is if the prices match the national ads that are running at the time. Franchise stores usually charge waaay more than corporate.

I have no clue why this is but that is reality.

If you have nothing but franchise stores in your area you could just describe a CGC to them and beg that they make it. That might work.
