Where are some romantic and fun places for a couple to go on vacation in October?

We're in our early 20's and want to go somewhere in the US or Canada, we're not really into beaches. We've been to and love Niagara Falls, but want to go somewhere new.
 
Try Colorado Mountains where the beautiful Aspen trees turn "GOLD" in the fall and the landscape is magnificent. Vail, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs in September are not too crowded, but a great place to see.
