I have asked before but didn't get any good replies, I am a designer maker and want to use old fashioned style electrical components in a light that I am making. I want to use the old fashioned type of wire that has "fabric"? that covers the wire.

I have included some links with images of what I am talking about, I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me where to get hold of this sort of thing in the UK.

I'm not sure about the UK, but in the US, fabric wire does not meet the current electrical code. It cannot legally be manufactured or used.

In the UK, I believe that older lamps cannot be sold with an electrical cord. Thus, older lamps need newer cords. I could be wrong about that.

Many old lamp components were unsafe. That's why they aren't used anymore. That said, there are suppliers of antique-type fittings.
