i just want to watch dvds on my pc cos my dvd players broken down and i'm broke right now.i've read on here somewhere that divx has codec or decoder or something which you just download and windows media player absorbs it.i've looked on divx website but i don't really understand what i'm supposed to download.i think it's free as well.please can you post a link or the exact web address and instructions on where to find it and what it's called and so on.thanks very much all help is appreciated.

You can download the whole divx player from the divx website: http://www.divx.com/en/downloads

This should not only install a separate player, but install the codecs you need to paly on windows media player. also, you could download the VLC player from here:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

This media player is amazing and i've never had problems playing anything in it

you can get all the codecs you want but your computer has to have a dvd player installed.does yours have a dvd player?
