Where should we vacation December 26-January 1?

We want to take a family vacation with our 8-year old son after Christmas. We live in Michigan but don't mind driving to another state (we'd like to keep the drive to 6 hours or less). We want to go somewhere that has a child-friendly New Year's Celebration. Any ideas are appreciated.
