Which do you believe is the better type of dog food?

I am curious to ask about my dog food. We just moved to an area, and have a new vet. We rescued our dog about a year ago from the shelter. The shelter and our previous vet believed that Wellness or Natural type dog foods are best for a dog. Number 1 ingredient should be say 'Chicken, Lamb, Fish' etc. No by products. Our dog has been on Wellness and Nutro Ultra mix. She has been doing well for the past year. The new vet suggested that we switch her to Purina "One" and believes that these are better for her..I read the ingredients and number 1 ingredient is Chicken, lamb but within the ingredients is "poultry by-product"..I am a bit iffy to switch her to a commercial dog brand with by-products. Does anyone have advice or has been in similar situation. I am confused..One vet says this, two other sources say the other..
 
As a dog show judge/ breeder of papillons and keeshounds, I feed my dogs Purina Pro plan. Its really great and healthy food, the only one I would ever buy for them.
