Which is better, 07 Jeep Compass or the 08 Dodge Nitro?

I have done lots of research on both and have come out about even with great and very bad reviews, so any personal experience or anything like that will help!! Thank You In Advance

I'd stay away from both.

A Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 are better vehicles in almost every way. They're more reliable, they have better resale value, they have better ratings and reviews...

If you're looking for an American brand, a Ford Escape would be a much better choice than anything from Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep.
