Which is better: Nintendo DS lite or DSi?

I'm thinking of getting my boyfriend one for Christmas and I know he really wants the Pokemon black and white games as well so my question is, which would be the better fit?
 
DSi is best. It has more features, such as a camera and a music-player. DS Lite is only really for playing games.
 
DSi is technically better because it is newer and it has online store, but the DS can play Gameboy Advanced Games, which I prefer because I harvest pokemon from earlier games.
 
Well after this year the will be not making regular DS games anymore.....And you cannot play DSi games on a DS....so in my opinion you need to get the DSi to continue to get updates and better games...that's like getting the regular xbox over the xbox 360
 
DSI. It's basically an upgraded version from lite. But I'd go with a 3DS if you can spare the money. It's so much better.
