I have looked into Krav Maga, but I am having a lot of trouble finding a reputable school in my area. Unfortunately, I can't find any other martial arts that are ideal for the harsh conditions of real street fights (other than Ninjutsu, and Systema) but in comparison, Krav Maga still seems like the best martial art for my need: my only need is to protect my friends and family, and then myself.
A fight can break out any time and any where, but I can almost guarantee that if one did, it would be on the street. So considering that my only incentive to learn is to protect my friends and family in real situations, which martial art is the best for me? Is it still Krav Maga?
@ first reply: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a fantastic self-defense, but it wouldn't be ideal for multiple opponents. Sure, you could take someone to the ground and proceed to breaking their arm with an armbar, but what is stopping the guy's buddies from stomping your face while you have someone in a submission on the ground?
