which one, dsl or satellite internet?

we currently have satellite internet (bad ping 512down 70up according to speedtest.net) and we can get dsl if we extend our line down and it will cost $1000 and the dsl guy said we would see speeds of 256 down and 128 up so which one is better. also i would like to play online games like halo 3
 
Well if you have that money and wanna spend it I would go with DSL its better and faster just make sure you're getting the complete bandwidth and that its not shared amongst the neighborhood.
