Which one i should use for 3D render ? MAC or PC?

I'm studying Multimedia Design and I do 3D a lot. I need a good desktop for doing 3D. Plz help me chose between MAC and PC. I should buy :
Mac Pro - 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon , 6 GB RAM + HD 4870 ------ 2849 $
or
PC with lower price and stronger spec ? Like this : http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Configurators.aspx?mid=518 ?
