present day historical Jews? The idea of "Supersessionism" says that Christians are the real Jews, because Christians are the true inheritors of the promises and obligations of the God's people in the Old Testament. This theory, a very controversial one, would say that the nominal or 'historical' Jews are in fact not Jews, but are part of a dead branch of the tree, and that Christians are the real Jews.

By the way, I am NOT saying I agree with this idea.

But I want to know what people make of it?
