Who is the most known Spider-Man villain?

I would say the Green Goblin. I've been following it since the Silver Age (on and off) and the marketing always comes back to him.
 
venom since it was his greatest enemy. venom was the only spiderman villain who spider never actually defeated (excluding the whole bell tower thing, he didn't really beat him in a fight) venom was created to be spiderman's ultimate enemy. the green goblin did come first but venom is better known because of who he is to spiderman
