Why actual internet speed is way much lower than one displayed in my ISP

connection!!!? This is really interesting..! Looking at my Connection - the speed reads 192 Kbps - thats 192,000 bytes per second. Right! While actual download speed/browsing on the net is only 10Kbps, i.e. 10,000 bytes/second!! This is crazy!....I noticed this long ago, but havent found any good answer to it.

The modem/port reads speed running at 192k, yet actual speed is 10k!!

Any logical explanation! Thanks.
 
well if your internet is set-up right and your connection is good i suggest you call your internet service provider!
as jason suggested.. otherwise that is the only real answer no other explanation
