i know the whole goal of the people doing it is to turn people away from it
but it actually has made me more convinced than ever to become a witness again
i am currantly not a jehovahs witness
gismoll- i do have a bachelors (not in liberal arts however, and took several religion classes while still in college)

You have not done the research into the WBS to assess their accuracy or their adherence to false prophecy as New Light.

God commands us to research what we are being taught as to whether it is of God or not...If you think scriptural opposition to the WBS makes them truthful then you are truly afraid to do the research that you are commanded to do.

The Goal is to bring people from spiritual darkness into real light. If you have not done the research into the WBS then you are speaking about things you are not informed on.

As a strict Trinitarian, I am opposed to much of the "ranting" about Jehovah's witnesses. However, some have expressed beliefs here in this section that do require an answer. Because some of it does reflect a real misunderstanding of some Christian beliefs. In other words, many disagree for the wrong reasons. So my greatest suggestion for everyone is to be fair to yourself and make every effort to acquire a college degree in the liberal arts in the form of a Bachelor of Arts especially in philosophy. Then make your decision. Because those who do have these educational degrees can very easily see through many of the Jehovah's witnesses arguments. Everything in scripture is true, but not all truth in the world is to be found in scripture. God is the author of reason also. But reason alone can lead to paganism while scripture alone leads to the sin of fanaticism. So get a good education and then decide.

No, your indoctrination is what made you more convinced than ever to stay a JW. If that's going to be the outcome no matter what, then that's the very definition of close-minded.

"i am currantly not a jehovahs witness"
ya, you really of are. if you're convinced to be one, then you are one.

That's good to hear. Some like to spread negative views and rumors about us because they personally don't agree with a particular teaching or they have had a bad experience with Jehovah's Witnesses before. Actually, I know of one person here who rants just about every day and the reason why he left is because of a loan between him and a brother went sour, so he took it out on the entire organization rather than just with that one brother. It's sad that some people are so sensitive, but there's not much you can do. Also, I have talked to some who feel the same way you do and they said that the rants people post actually bring attention to JW's and how they teach specifically from the Bible and back up every single point with both Biblical scripture as well as accurate historical accounts. It just goes to show that even their negative rants cannot dissuade people from learning the truth about things. I even had an atheist come to me and say, "The people that rant about you guys are so full of it. I've researched the things they've said and they're basically pulling things out of their noses." You're making Jehovah very happy by considering to become part of his spiritual family once again.

Because in my personal experience(not hearsay) try this a JW child ( JW child, a damn joke the child too young to decide) dies because the JW parents refuse the medical procedure/attention required by their small child, hurrah for their faith, the child died, as a result of the refusal, fact.

It would have not died, if the JW parents didn't smash their beliefs onto the child who couldn't give a damn about religion (Sara, she was just 3 years old), but I am sure wanted to live.
Rant you say, I'll give you RANT.

I let JW's come to my door, and before they can say anything I say "do you believe in not allowing certain medical procedures", they evade the question, then I tell the tale above, and finish off with "you JW's should be ashamed of yourselves, children are children, to cherish and protect, now go away".

That is great for you. The problem for the rest of us is
all the witnessing. What you decide to do for yourself
is your personal decision. When you come on to my
private property, repeated, then you are encroaching
on my personal decisions. And that is wrong.

Lead by example. Not by shoving your beliefs down
my throat, esp when l am not interested or don't have
the time to really pay attention
