Why ask a question and then complain when you don't get the answer you want?

I seems that many people ask questions with a preconceived answer, in mind, but don't seem to appreciate that others may see things differently to them, and so rather than grow from the experience of having a variety of answers including some quite funny ones to compare their present view with, complain when they don't get the response they agree with or want.

It's pointless, yes, but sometimes people hope to hear the answer they already have in mind from other people for validation or confirmation.

As you say, they have a preconceived answer in mind.
They don't want advice, they want confirmation. Some people
think they're always right, part of human nature.

Well that does not bother me as much, its their fault... what bothers me is when people answer the question, but they don't answer MY question. When they go off-topic, that is the worst.

this isn't really an answer, just an "I agree" statement. I know people who do that a lot, and I always just end up telling them "well why the hell did you ask me then? Don't bother asking me if you're just going to say I'm wrong". It's so annoying.
