Why can't I use audibles, file sharing, etc. with one of my messenger friends?

I can't play any games or share any files, pics, etc. Why is this? Also, she says that when I type, several different messages are popping up. Like "Suzie is dropping knowledge." What is that?
 
Sounds like she has a different version of Yahoo Messenger than you do.
 
you can you have to talk to someone and click on file sharing on the tool bar on top of the conversation
