Why did all of a sudden my internet got slow?

I have Verizion DSL for my internet provider [I don't think FIOS]. It was extremely fast! Even though my main computer [the one I used] is connected to my younger sister's computer w/ a router, it's still fast. Her computer was in my parents room [don't ask why] and mine was in my room. So then my cousin moved in for a little bit so we had to move my computer to the living room, and then it got a tiny bit slower, but working fine. My parents didn't want my sis's pc in their room anymore so they moved it in the living room right next to mine. NOW the internet is asfjlkajfjoaf SLOW! I have NO idea why, I am extremely angry. It's not that I'm impatient, it's that the internet was amazingly fast and now it's amazingly slow. [even slower than when we had dial-up O_O] So I'm asking, do you guys have any idea why? I have Verizon DSL so I have gotten those filters to plug in the walls, and moved some of the locations of it cause now there are 2 PCs next to each other so I put them in in the remaining phone jack things. I have no idea and I would love for my internet to get back to normal. I know that there must be something wrong, I don't think I need to call the Verizon customer service because I this is a minor problem I can't find. But if it keeps this up, I will. The only thing I want to find out is why my internet is slower than a turtle. Any Ideas? If you have any questions to help me by, then please ask, I know I'm not specific enough =/

BTW I don't know if I have a virus, cause I can't see why, but w/e.
 
since you moved your DSL modem to a different phone plug it could be a problem. the wiring in the house is not even, there are splitters that are hidden in the walls that split phone cable, that causes the speed to be much slower. I would first try to move your DSL modem to another phone lug and see how it work, and after, if that would not help call Verizon.

are you downloading stuff as your surf that slows it down, restart the modem and restart the pc and calm down
 
you may have a virus, a trojan, or a cookie from the internet or someone that could have hacked in.
 
Slow internet happens for various reasons. You might have poor hardware connecting your machine to the wall. Maybe your modem-router is not configured correctly.Depends- when is it exactly slow? is it while surfing the internet, or when running progrmas? either way, you can make it go faster. If your internet is slow, you should scan your computer for viruses and spyware using suitable programs(for example- avast anti virus or spybot). If you still experience the same problem I would advise you to delete the computer after backing it up, and then installing a new copy of Windows. if your problem is with programs running slowly- I can advise you to download this software, which can extremely help- CCleaner.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
