The Roman Catholic faith that I have which is the truth:

Christ is the ULTIMATE rock and Peter is the EARTHLY rock.

yes

Christ Himself is the rock

Catholics say He was referring to Peter

Edit: Good point, Averell

Upon this Rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The Rock is Peter's statement: "You [Jesus] are the Christ the Son of the living God."

Matthew 16:18 (New International Version)
18And I tell you that you are Peter,[a] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Where does Jesus say here:

upon this rock will I build my CATHOLIC church?

I don't see that here.

If Jesus meant the "catholic" church, then why didn't He SAY that?

Where does He say CATHOLIC here?

This is absolutly NO EVIDENCE that this is reffering to the "catholic" church, when Jesus doesn't say that!

He says church-NOT "catholic" church!

This is the epitome of arrogance to assume this!

You know how the word "assume" breaks down?

I agree that Peter was the rocky foundation then up came Constantine .
When you think of all the horrors the Catholic church went through and today it still stands makes me wonder.
