F Fluffy Member Jan 7, 2012 #1 SUV's? What was the reason for auto manufacturers designing 1/2 to trucks and SUV's with a 6-lug wheel design all of a sudden in the '90's and then in the 00's they decided to go back with the old 5-lug style wheels. Why did they switch?
