why do christians preach to atheists, and then complain when the atheists "attack"?

keep deleting it... i'll keep asking it...
didn't they read the words of jesus in matthew 7:6 "do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot and turn to attack you"... the atheists are only doing what jesus said they would do... it's the christians who ignored jesus's command to not do it...

why do they complain when the words of jesus prove true, when they have disobeyed?
Debert: i have never damned someone to "hell" for not believing as i do; i have never said someone is immoral because they don't believe as i do...
lou: i have also never said the bible is 100% wrong... human nature is unchanged from when it was written...

those who don't want your wares will get very annoyed and snap back after a while of being pressured... no 'god' is needed to understand that...

now try answering the question

I agree. I only answer their questions, I never bring it up. I have atheist friends who do like to talk about origins and such, and I think we both learn from the encounter. Pearls before swine actually describes telling people who won't listen, or who have hatred for christians and christian ideals. Those are few and far between, but a warning in the Bible is still warranted.

I do not preach to atheists or anyone else. I do not believe in proselytizing. To me, someone who harasses others with continued conversion attempts probably deserves whatever verbal reprimand they may receive. But then again, perhaps the offended party could consider taking the high road and responding in a dignified manner. Personally, I feel that if someone converts to my religion, they must absolutely come of their own free will, without having been pressured in any way.
