Why do I always here the phrase "The age of huge gas-guzzling SUVs are over"...

...when in reality its not? Can someone please explain this to me?? Yes I know gas prices are high. And I know the economy is doing poorly right now..........but this phrase to me is complete bullshit.

People generally buy SUVs for 1 of 2 reasons (sometimes both)

1. They have a large family and would like a vehicle that can carry a large number of ppl.....or they do heavy towing which requires powerful SUV engines.

2. They have lots of money

This is as ridiculous as someone saying "the age of sports cars are over"........REALLY??

Sports cars usually get horrible milage too, but the ppl buying sports cars aren't buying them for "fuel efficiency"------They are usually also wealthy enough that gas prices dont matter.......let me repeat that.......GAS PRICES ARE OF NO CONCERN TO THEM.

My uncle is a surgeon who has a wife and two children.........so they are a family of four.......he has 3 cars:

1. Hummer H2
2. BMW 7 series
3. Cadillac Escalade

You really think he needs all these HUGE vehicles......no but he likes big cars and he has big pockets........so he purchases them. That simple.

This is why this statement annoys me........there is still a big market for gigantic SUVs.......although its probably now aimed at ppl with much higher incomes (Over $100k per year).

I personally just think its politically motivated from all of these enviromentalists.

Your thoughts?

Because liberals want to spread false rumors about the economy to keep their evil agenda going.
