Why do I have to accept this woman that doesn't fully meet my requirements?

I've always told myself that I want my gf or future wife to be well educated and have a successful career. These are just the two basic requirements - nothing more. I've never demanded a pretty woman, but why am I stuck with and surrounded by women who have no solid education and good career prospects?
