Why do I loose channels with a DTV converter?

I live in Burkburnett Texas and my analog TV receives 4 over the air channels (KFDX 3, KAUZ 6, KSWO 7, and KJTL 18). However when I hook up my DTV converter box I can only receive KSWODT (7.1 7.2 and 7.3) which come from Lawton Oklahoma 40 miles away but the other stations are broadcast from less then 20 miles away. So why do I lose these channels?

I live at lake arrowhead and I can get all except kjtl. I had to buy an indoor andtenna with an amplifier so i could pick them up. It was only 30 bucks for one but to get the channels you will need to get a antenna. Kjtl is being broadcast in low power right now so you need and outdoor antenna. KFDX says that they will increase the power to full strength for kjtl when they have to so that means february 17th. But once you get the antenna you will get 3.1 6.1 6.2 and thats it until kjtl is at full strength and it will be 15.1.
