I have been dating my current boyfriend for around 6 months and we have been official for the past 2 months roughly. The problem is he doesn't shut up about his ex girlfriend!!
In the beginning when he first met he talked about her quite often, but i let it go as i thought it was just a way of him letting me know about his past - and i was a bit curios. Now six months on he brings her up for no reason at all every time i see him. Even down to stupid things like telling me his CD player is his ex's and little things like where she used to work (which i don't even care about or need to know). He admits he emails her now and again as they both work in the police force. He says he is only being polite and she emails him first! I still hate it though!
Ive told him it bothers me and we are getting to the point where i'm about to explode in anger or end everything. He tells me he won't talk about her anymore but every time i see her he does! He even does it for fun messing about. I think he may want a reaction but i'm sick of it now and he knows it but wont stop.
Am i just an idiot for being with him? I'm starting to think he must either want here back and miss her like hell or want a reaction from me. She split up with him too which makes me feel like i'm just some kind of rebound. They broke up a year ago and he told me he doesn't want her back because she stopped him seeing his friends and was controlling.
Ive tried my best but i'm thinking of giving up. Any ideas what the hell is going on? Thanx.
