Why do middle schoolers gossip alot?

Okay,So i was walking around in school getting ym books and all i see are girls gossiping about a girl "my locker buddy" and saying mean things! So why do they gossip anyways?

It's middle school.... In high school everyone does there own thing (at least in my school). Party HARD

Middle schoolers are like that. I'm in your position right now (8th grade) and I'm not very liked at all at school. Mainly because when the girls gossip, I say something, so they don't like me. I don't care very much, although I used to.
They just have nothing better to talk about. And when that occurs, all they can think to talk about is other people. Don't let it bother you, it's their loss they decide to talk about trivial and stupid things.
It's the way girls are.
