the LGBT community? (see details)? Recently I was talking to the chairperson of the local LGBT group, and he made disparaging comments about bisexuals. I pointed out that the group was for LGBT, not LGT. He just looked at me and walked off.

what's the story here? What do you honestly think of bisexuals?

I think some people don't believe there is such a thing as a "bisexual." Someone I know thinks people that label themselves as bi are just really horny and will sleep with anyone.
Personally, I'm fine with bi people. I know they exist and I know that they aren't all just really horny (although, it might be true in some cases).

My bff is pansexual. And her ex best-friend, who is also my ex, is pansexual. So.

I think a lot of people are hell-bent on thinking of bisexuals/trisexuals/whatever as either helpless sluts or people who are gay and don't want to admit it or people who are straight but want to be interesting.

I think generally speaking people have many prejudices against bisexuals. But honestly? You do NOT get more discriminated against than transsexuals. I have transsexual friends and people just completely shun them.

Plus I think gays are still the group with the most radical opponents. Like maybe more people frown at you, but I'm more likely to get brutally murdered by some ignorant psycho.

It changes from place to place and from person to person though. I hope things with you get better!!
