because of Race? Why is it that whenever a black person says that they are going to vote for Obama, white Republicans say that they are only doing so because of his race.
But they never mention why white people are voting for John McCain.
If Republicans would reach out to black people, Asian people, Hispanic people, and people of other races other than white, then maybe we would come over to your side. But you don't. You only see the "token black" in the crowd like James T. Harris ( the black guy that begged John McCain to take it to Obama).
Republicans don't reach out to anybody other than White people, military people, or White Evangelican Christians. There are plenty of black people that are Christians. Why don't the Republicans reach out to us ?
At the GOP Republican Convention, the only black people there were their for entertainment purposes only. And their were a few black people in the crowd that they constantly put the camera on just to say that they aren't racist like many people think. But they never reach out to anybody that is different from them for fear of alienating their base.
And why is it that you never see Bridget McCain anywhere like you see the rest of the McCain family? It seems like they are hiding her. Because I heard the story about George Bush asking Republicans would they be least likely to vote for McCain if they knew he had a illegitimate black daughter with a Black women (referring to her dark skin even though she is Bangledesh). Many people think that John McCain lost the first election because of her.
I have come in to contact with numerous people that are Republicans and seen clips on youtube stating that they are not voting for Obama because he is black. I could see not voting for him because of his policies or their perceiving his association with Ayers, Wright etc. But because he is black> That is racist!
Why is it that there are no Black Republicans in Congress or that there has never been a Black Republican Presidential Nominee or Vice Presidential Nominee? Why is it that Black Republicans like Alan Keyes lost in their elections as Senators?
If you are going to complain about black people voting for a black man because of race, then you have to provide evidence that the other party is not racist in any way and Black people are not quite sure about that.
Me personally, I think that both parties are racist. The Democratic Party is racist because they create programs like Welfare and Affirmative Action because they don't think that Black People are capable of doing anything on their own. And they do take our vote for granted in alot of ways. They know that 90 % of black people are going to vote Democrat so they think that they are owed our vote but... How do Republicans reach out to us and other minorities.
Basically, 90 % of black people vote Democrat because the candidates take our interest in account, they reach out for our vote, and the fact that we don't have another option. I am not entirely sure that the Republican Party even wants our vote.
Sure John McCain will take anybody's vote whether they be white or black because the ultimate goal is winning. But the question for black people is: Does he really care about us and our interest? And the answer is: NO!!!!!
The Democratic Party has always been more welcoming than the Republican party.
So that is why that most black people vote Democrat and most 90% of black people will be voting for Obama and not John McCain.
When Republicans start to be more welcoming to minorities and people that are different from them, then Black People will maybe re-evaluate our stance on things.
Martin B - Obama is also getting the white vote too.
chuckfw - i am not racist. i know you are though
a majority of white people are voting for McCain... and how does that answer my question anyway
why are white republicans complaining about Colin Powell endorsing Obama when numerous Republicans, some black and some white, have endorsed Obama
