Why do you think gay men are such loyal fans to their "divas"?

We gay men have always been loyal to female singers/actresses, such as Donna Summer, Cher, Madonna, Olivia Newton-John etc. (and for you kids, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, etc.) -- why do you think that is? Certain women have huge gay followings and others do not.
