America celebrate different kind of holidays for alot of people. But we only advertise the american ones. Trust me, you need to be in the right part of america to see different cultures and hoildays.

St. Patricks day is an excuse for alot of people to drink but if youre truly irish, you will understand what it means

Because there are a LOT of Mexicans and Irish in America, and the rest of Americans just like to party.

we have to be equal... you know... Merry Festive Season to you and yours...

America is made up of people from all over the world. It's only natural that these people take their customs and holidays with them.
:)Happy StPatricks Day.. (i'm not irish tho)

Why? They don't celebrate our holidays.
Like Cinco De Mayo. Why do we celebrate Mexican independence? They don't celebrate July 4th.
And St. Patrick's Day...is it just an excuse to drink?

im Irish and i celebrate st. pattys day but i live in america and Cinco De Mayo some people have mexican blood in them

Americans celebrate other nations holidays because they have ancesteral links to most countries, a lot of americans are from german and irish decent, for example. And there are a lot of mexicans in the southern states so thats why that is celebrated. But americans don't celbrate all of them, as far as I'm aware, not many americans celebrate Guy Fawkes night.

A native mexican woman at work told me Cinco De Mayo is not celebrated in Mexico, so I think it's just pushed by the Alcohol; company's to make money. Probably the same thing with St. Patty's day, but I don't know anyone from Ireland to be sure. Also, I think Valentine's is just pushed by retailers with no real historical significance.

that is true.
we all like to party
for example we celebrate ''el dia de los muertos''
the day of the dead

Because this is a country of immigrants!! We are a melting pot, 300 million people from all over the world living in the same country. Of course they are going to celebrate events and holidays from where they came from. Native Americans don't have holidays because they've been on this country for thousands of years before anyone came over to this land and they have nothing to celebrate. We should all be apologizing to Native Americans for taking their country.
