1) Why does eHarmony seem to do better than God at matching couples for marriage? You *do* realize, don't you, that none of God's matches end in divorce? 2) Why do believers have higher divorce rates than nonbelievers, in general, even though God is supposedly on their side? Evidence for this claim? My understanding was that the divorce rate among nominal Christians was identical to that of the general population. 3) What does it say about God's lack of leadership when It can't even maintain couples according to Its own ironclad rules of marriage? ? You are confusing several issues with this statement. God has given humans free will. He does not normally mandate who is to marry whom. People make that decision, not God, and it is people who make the decision - frequently sinful - to divorce, not God. 4) If God did indeed create every single thing in the universe, that means God created every second of life we have on this planet. Each footstep in the sand we're to create is in God's plan. Just because it is included in God's plan does not mean that God *intended* for such a thing to happen. Foreknowledge does not of necessity include control. For example: if I build an automobile knowing without a doubt that one day it will fail, I am not responsible for that failure. Even if I know that one day some drunk will run it into a tree and kill himself, I am not responsible for what I know that drunk will do with the car I build. God knows what humans will do, but he does not (normally) control it. Jim, http://www.BibleSelector.com
