Why does Mozilla Firefox crash everytime I watch DivX movies?

I've tried reinstalling DivX like 4 times and I have reinstalled Mozilla two times. I've checked my firewall and even tried turning it off. DivX is a program that is allowed on my firewall. I've never had problems with DivX until now. Please give me the best answer you can.
I'm using Vista by the way and I downloaded ffdshow but it still doesn't work
