I hear people saying the same thing ALL THE TIME. And I think I know exactly why this is. Especially at Best Buy (not sure about Circuit City), they have their Blu-ray displays setup with a Sony KDL-46XBR4 LCD. This lcd is one of the best tvs on the market with Sony's branded "motionflow" technology. This "motionflow" technology enables the TV to refresh at 120hz, which is double of a "normal" tv. When this option is enabled, the motion looks amazing, and Blu-rays look almost live. Incredible! But that creates a problem and a misrepresentation of Blu-ray. While you will still great MUCH better picture quality than DVD, unless your TV is 120hz set (and currently only LCD tvs support this, not Plasma) You won't get the "WOW" quality. Your tv is either 120hz, or 60hz. There's nothing you can do to alter or "upgrade" it. Sorry bud!
