why does my bluetooth say invalit file type?

i have a Rumor phone from sprint and my sister (who also has sprint) just got a bunch of ringtones from her friend using bluetooth. but when she tried sending them to me everything worked up until the very end.
on her phone it said it had sent succesfully, but on mine it said "invalid file type"
we tried a bunch of things but nothing worked. does anyone know what im doing wrong!?
