I have a 1992 Buick skylark., 3.1L, V6, auto trans. I never know what is going to happen when I start my car. Sometimes it runs perfect, other times it will idle as high as 2000 rpm. Or it will die randomly. Usually when it dies I know that it is going to happen because the idle will bounce between 500 and 1000 rpm. I usually have to keep my foot in the gas when coming to a stop to prevent it from dieing once the idle starts to bounce. When the car is running normal, it idles around 750ish, no rpm bounce and runs great. I have replaced so far the ignition control module, and the tps (throttle position sensor) with no luck.
I said up above that its auto trans... it does more than stall... read the whole description please. 3 different problems, all randomly happening. But all problems are related to the idle.
2 random problems.. not 3.. oops...lol
I took the car to a mechanic and they could not figure it out either. They pressure tested the fuel pump, but its okay.
