Computer:
Intel Core 2 Duo Mobl 2.0 Ghz (T3200), 667FSB
4 GB ram
120 GB serial ATA 2.5"
Win XP pro

I don't have any special programs or anything except the basics. Spyware and virus scans done daily. Very little music/video stored....

And yet this thing heats up and the fans turn on all the time. (yes, it is used on a flat surface with proper ventilation, etc...)

It uses 50% of the CPU with only Mozilla firefox running and 2-3 tabs open. Is this normal? Only 10-15% of the memory is typically used. And as I said, no extra programs...

This is so annoying!!!

When I work on a computer that is having issues, one of the first things I look at is the 'processes' that are running... to do this, hold down the 'ctrl' & 'alt' keys and hit the 'delete' key. This will bring up the 'task manager'. Click on 'processes' then click on 'cpu' twice (this will sort the field with the largest amount of cpu usage at the top of the list).

Write down the image name(s) of the process(es) that is taking up most of the cpu usage. I would take that information and 'google' it to find out if what is running is a virus, spyware, etc. You will need to stop any process that is harmful and run virus & spyware removal scans.

By the way, if you have more than one antivirus program on your computer, that can cause you problems also.

I you need additional help on this, contact me at [email protected]
