Why doesn't my Motorola W375 auto lock?

I love my Motorola W375 which I got last Christmas but I'm afraid it won't auto lock. Is that a glitch in my phone specifically or do they all not auto lock?
 
go into menu > settings > security, you can turn the auto lock feature on or off from there.
