Why don't I 'understand' humor/jokes?

I don't get it.

Like when me and my friends are watching a movie or a video clip or even when someone say I joke I dont get it. I don't get what's funny. I mean it's not like I underhand the joke but don't fin it funny. It's that I don't understand the intended humor in the first place.

And English is my only language.

So why is this? How can I train myself?

try to understand the meaning of the joke darling and keep listening or reading it
