Why don't the San Diego Padres trade Chris Young & Heath Bell?

Face it Chris Young is always on the disabled list AGAIN? Heath Bell is not good as a closer blows a save yesterday and the end of last season.If the Paderes want to succed they Need to trade them.Please list wat teams will give up for C.Young and Big fat boy H.Bell
instead of trading my man Jake Peavy they should of traded them

You said it, Chris Young is on the DL. Who wants a pitcher with shoulder issues? When Chris Young returns if he has a couple of solid outings there will be a demand for him. Heath Bell is a pretty good closer and there is definite trade value there; the Twins have been scouting him since Joe Nathan went down. It's April, everyone believes they're in contention; don't expect any moves to be made until June and July.

And when it comes to Peavy, they were really forced to due to the budgetary constraints and the ownership transition at the time. Peavy had signed a contract extension that was below market value, and in return were able to get four quality pitching prospects in return. Those guys will be under team control and affordable for years to come.

I think you just answered your own question. Chris Young is always hurt and Heath Bell may have been one of those "one year closers". If they traded Bell would they get equal value? probably not. I doubt they could trade him for someone better, maybe prospects. Is that worth it?
