Apple isn't a competitor in my eyes, they haven't invented anything since the Firewire which is debated by some, Google has already implanted themselves into mobile computing, and with phones becoming more like PC's every day. Google has also got involved in a lot of things in the past years, last time I checked they were looking for profit sources because they are pumping a lot of money into future projects that wont pay off for some time, an immediate source of money is needed, maybe this was just a quick sell for some quick dough. They are currently expanding Fiber-Optic networking across the U.S. which is an example of an investment that isn't going to pay off immediately, currenty I believe their Fiber internet in Kansas City is free.
By invented I mean a real invention that they could rightfully proclaim a patent on, the Tablet and such has been around, same with portable MP3 music devices. Logan from "The Tek" discusses this in one of his videos are. They have recently been on a sue spree as well, sueing for the scroll down menu, WHICH WAS CREATED BY ANDROID!!, They are doing this to everyone, Steve Jobs in my opinion was an ass but now even bigger asses are running the Corp. when Steve Wozniak left the company all hope was lost.
