Why hasn't petri dish meat ever been commercially developed and sold in

grocery stores? Given all the other technological advances in the last 10-20 years I'd have thought most burger meat would be grown in large vats in a factory by now
 
cuz its far more sporting to spear a zebra in the neck, cut its head off, eat its heart and do a victory dance
 
I imagine it is still cheaper to kill animals. They probably taste different and people are afraid to eat science in general.
 
At a guess, I'd put it down to two things - it hasn't been approved by the food safety authorities; and, more likely, they haven't worked out how to produce it cheaply and sell it for a massive profit.
