Why is Ai Yazawa torturing us?!?!?

I've never cried so much for any manga/anime EVER!!!! But Ren's death was like... devastating to me!! So unexpected, too. I'm actually depressed now after reading chapters 78+79. I'm really hating Ai Yazawa right now!!! Why would she make one of the best (and main) characters die like that?? It's just not fair. T^T
Well anyway (before I burst into tears once again), does anybody have any news on when the manga will be picked back up again? Apparently its on hiatus...

it made me cry, too. however, i like how nana is somewhat realistic and ai yazawa is unafraid to make all her endings too perfect and happy. it was a very unpredictable and unexpected plot twist.
