Why is everyone always arguing over their country's over the internet?

There seems to be a heightened sense of nationalism over the internet which seems quite weird because what country your from makes no difference over the internet as everyone is all connected. I read many comments on forums and youtube videos that say things that about 99.9% of people would never really say in real life. Im new to the internet so plese tell me why people act so weird on it?
WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!
