God throughout the bible seems to be fine - in some times, incouraging incest. But he is so ardently against homosexuality...why is this?

One case of incest that everybody must know is genesis:
Adam and eve = bro n sis
Eve and cain and abl = mother sons

...ewwww
"Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years." (Exod 6:20)
"Esau then realized how displeasing the Canaanite women were to his father Isaac; so he went to Ishmael and married Mahalath, the sister of Nebaioth and daughter of Ishmael son of Abraham, in addition to the wives he already had. (Gen 28:8–9;

Oh! look! some homosexula incest too in the flood :D
Genesis 9:22, "And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without."

uh - why are you ok with tearing down straw men by making things up?

Adam and Eve were NOT brother and sister! (DUH!)

And, while it's true that Cain had to marry his own sister, it was not a sin, because the gene pool was pure back then.

As far as you guys who point out the sex between the daughters of Lot, and their father Lot, first, that was not something that was "OK" with God. The Bible depicts the events accurately and does not gloss over them, just as one of King David's sons went to one of his sisters and raped her. Does that mean God is OK with rape? Of course not! (DUH!) That, in fact, is one of the reasons you can rely on the validity of the Bible - it doesn't gloss over anybody's sins, but tells it like it is. If it were the product of the imagination of men, they would hide the sins of the heroes!

Getting back to Lot, Lot was drunk. It was the daughters who instigated this wicked behavior.

As far as homosexuality goes, it violates the very design blueprints and spec sheets that God created in human kind!

I've said something similar, and I'll keep repeating myself, until somebody gets it into their thick skulls, that what God designed, and the WAY He designed it, is the way it's supposed to be, and God does NOT like when people attempt to tamper with what He created! One might sin against another person or even himself, but to deliberately tell God that He doesn't know what He's doing in the way He made man and woman to be together, you might as well just slap God in the face or try to spit on Him. Why should He tolerate that behavior?
