why is it that i am immune to being tan ?

i'm a mix asian and european blood, i went to bali couple a days ago to get some tan.

i was sun bathing for hours, and i use a tanning oil as well, but i'm not even a tad browner at all.

what is wrong with me ?? i want my money back !
