i know that the hero must be the strongest but in naruto, naruto wasn't there were always guys that are equal or surpass him like lee, neji, but now that anime has turned to a dbz like anime where goku is always the stronger why couldn't it be like one piece where the protagonists where beaten countless of times???? I'm just asking this question to all people out there that think that it's bullshit to having the hero always the strongest(Naruto).
Okay but is it that the others are always that useless like in dbz
one piece and yuyu hakusho shows a different thing where there actually some enemies and friends that surpasses them or are equal to them
naruto started out like that then why is it going in the dbz way, if it's going to continue like that i guess I'll loose interest in it just like dbz

Well lets think about it. What kind of storyline would it be if the hero always lost and was weak? umm.... a boring and sad one. The hero always wins. It's always been like that and I don't see it changing anytime soon. Besides it sets an example to do the right thing and you'll always be victorious the end.

Think of it like this,

because they are the strongest, they are the hero.
If someone else was stronger, they could have been the hero.
It's really easy peasy reverse psychology.

The modern anime where the hero is the strongest are common because it's easy likable story writing. In naruto it was truly clever story writing, because in the beginning hes kind of a joke, but as the series goes on he starts to get stronger, and the history shown about ero sennin shows that though naruto is strange and weak at first he will aspire to be strong and famous as ero sennin did.

Watch YuYu Hakusho. The protagonist, Yusuke, actually loses the last battle.

Grappler Baki: He wins the tournament, but he is still light years behind his father

I understand the hero being the most powerful. What I don't like about DBZ is, not that Goku is the strongest, but the fact that all of the other characters are totally useless until he shows up from training/recovery etc. You can apply this to every DBZ storyline.
