I drive an 85 Pontiac Fiero SE with the V-6 engine. Today I was driving and heard a click just before the engine died. While troubleshooting I found the 10 amp fuse for the fuel pump was blown. I took another 10 amp fuse (for the radio) and inserted it in the fuel pump slot. The car started and drove about one hundred feet / 30 seconds and then blew that10 amp fuse in the fuel pump slot. WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS FUSE TO GET TOO MUCH AMPERAGE? Please do not tell me to use higher amperage fuse, I want to fix this problem correctly without bypassing the root cause. Thank you in advance for your opinions.
